Cambria

Dave Cambria has been working professionally in the film production community since 1992. A member of both IATSE Local 481(New England) and IATSE Local 52 (New York), he has worked as a gaffer, rigging gaffer, and best boy on major motion pictures, documentaries, television series, and commercials.

Among many others, Dave has worked on Oscar-nominated films In the Bedroom, The Fog of War and American Hustle; Hollywood blockbusters TED and The Heat; and locally produced television series Brotherhood and Body of Proof. He has fostered many lasting relationships with nationally renowned producers, technicians and directors of photography throughout the industry.

In 1997, Dave and colleague Frans Weterrings founded Red Herring Motion Picture Lighting, their equipment rental business to service their own jobs as owner-operators. Since then, Red Herring has grown to become the first place to call for lighting equipment, trucks and “West Coast”-designed generators. With five stages and a multimillion-dollar inventory, Red Herring and Red Sky Studios can service any needs, and look forward to continued growth in the areas of commercial studio and location production. And now, Dave and all of the team are extremely proud and excited about the opening of the new Red Sky Studios – Foxborough location!

In his spare time, Dave enjoys being on the water in any way, running, and cycling – he has completed 14 Pan-Mass Challenges, helping to raise over $1,000,000 for the Jimmy Fund with his team “‘Fraid Knots” out of Barrington, RI, where he and his family reside.
